The Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (“FIVB”, “We”, “Us”) is the service provider and responsible authority of FIVB.org, FIVB.com and Volleyball.World (hereinafter the "FIVB Platforms"). The FIVB is committed to protect your privacy and personal data and ensure your security when using its website and services. The FIVB strives to be transparent about the processing of your data. Please note that the FIVB Platforms are not directed to children below the age of sixteen. The FIVB does not knowingly collect, use, or share information that could reasonably be used to identify children under age of sixteen without prior parental consent or consistent with applicable law. Any registration by a minor would require the parents’ prior consent.
Please read the following to learn more about our Privacy Policy and the ways in which We use your information before you proceed with the use of the FIVB Platforms.

1. What this Privacy Policy Covers
This Privacy Policy covers the treatment of personally identifiable information that is processed when you are using the FIVB Platforms, as described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to practices of companies that We do not own or control, or to people that We do not employ or manage, including without limitation third-party advertisers or sponsors to whom you provide information.
2. Information on collection and use of data
a) When you browse the FIVB Platforms
We temporarily (maximum seven days) processes the following information when you are browsing the FIVB Platforms: IP address, date and time of the request, time zone difference to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), content of the request (concrete webpage), access status/http-status code, respective size of transferred data, website the request has come from, the operating system and its interface, language and version of the used browser software, videos viewed/audio tracks listened to, individual links clicked, search words or search phrases (site search), duration of visit.
Such information is used to ensure a smooth connection setup of the FIVB Platforms, analyse trends, administer the FIVB Platforms, track users' movements and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use, which allows Us to improve the FIVB Platforms to its visitors’ needs, to ensure the FIVB Platforms functions correctly and to identify any technical issues as well as for statistical purposes. In addition, the IP address is processed for security reasons, e.g. to identify cyberattacks against the FIVB Platforms, for seven days after your visit.
Article 6 para. 1 lit. f of the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) serves as the legal basis for the processing of Personal Data when accessing the FIVB Platforms. Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes of data use listed above. Such information is neither used to create individual user profiles (“Profiling”) nor forwarded to third parties unless required by law.
b) When you create a profile on the FIVB Platforms
When you create a profile on the FIVB Platforms, the following additional information will be processed: name, address, e-mail-address, date of birth, Nationality, gender, and social media accounts information
This information is required to identify the user, to create and manage your account, to provide for a safe login environment and, if necessary, to contact you via your registered contact information in connection with the management and operation of your account. Therefore, such processing is based on Article 6 para. 1 lit.b GDPR.
We will also process your data for customization of the FIVB Platforms and for direct marketing purposes, in particular to notify you about special offers that may be of interest to you. Such direct marketing activities are covered by the legitimate interests of FIVB to promote own events and products of the FIVB and the FIVB Family (national federations and continental confederations) as well as promotional information about FIVB partners. Your interests do not outweigh FIVB’s interests as We do not use any data of a special category. Such use of your data coincides with your reasonable expectations as the FIVB Platforms are offered free of costs and our marketing activities only relate to the world of volleyball and related products.
Such processing of data is based on Article 6 para. 1 lit.f GDPR. You have the right to object at any time to the processing of your data for our marketing purposes. You may also delete your profile at any time by informing legal@fivb.org.
c) Cookie information
FIVB may set and access cookies on your computer. A cookie is a text-only string of information that a website transfers to the cookie file of your computer’s hard disk so that the FIVB Platforms can remember who you are.
A cookie will typically contain the name of the domain from which the cookie has come, the “lifetime” of the cookie, and a value, usually a randomly generated unique number.
When you visit the FIVB Platforms we send you a cookie. The following types of cookies may be used on the FIVB Platforms: (a) session cookies, (b) persistent cookies, (c) third-party cookies:
(a) Session cookies are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of your browser until you leave the site. Session cookies compile anonymous, aggregated statistics that allow Us to understand how users use our site and to help Us improve the structure of our website.
(b) Persistent cookies remain in the cookie file of your browser to help Us recognise you as a unique visitor when you return to the FIVB Platforms and to allow Us to tailor content or advertisements to match your preferred interests or to avoid showing you the same banners, videos, adverts, etc. repeatedly.

The FIVB Platforms use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, United States (“Google”). IP anonymization is activated which means that Google will anonymize the last octet of the IP address for Member States of the European Union as well as for other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Google Analytics uses cookies to help the website analyse how users use the site. On behalf of the website provider Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage to the website provider. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the FIVB Platforms (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google.

The FIVB Platforms may provide links to third-party websites for the convenience of our users. If you access those links, you will leave the FIVB Platforms. For example, other web sites may collect or use personal information about you in a manner different from than described in this document. Therefore, you should use other web sites with caution, and you do so at your own risk. FIVB encourages you to review the privacy policy of any web site before submitting personal information. It is also likely that your data will be transferred to different countries, in particular the United States of America, which may not have the same standard of data protection as your home country. The third-party service is also likely to use its own cookies. 4. International Data Transfer
Your data is processed in Switzerland, whose data protection standard has been acknowledged by an adequacy decision of the European Commission. Your data may be stored and used elsewhere depending on the location of affiliates, business partners, and other entities who are permitted to access such data under the terms of this Privacy Policy (and such locations may include countries which may not afford the same level of protection of such data as the country from which you provided the information).
We only transfer your data to other third states outside the EU on basis of an adequacy decision pursuant to Article 45 GDPR or if (i) you have explicitly consented to such transfer after having been informed of the possible risks of such transfer due to the absence of an adequacy decision and appropriate safeguards, or (ii) the transfer is necessary for the performance of our services or the implementation of pre-contractual measures taken at your request, or (iii) one of the other exemptions stipulated in Article 49 para. 1 GDPR applies.
5. General Information Sharing and Disclosure
We may send your data to third parties when:
- you gave Us explicit consent pursuant to Article 6 para. 1 lit.a GDPR;

a) Your right to access information
You are entitled to see the information held about you, including the source and the recipients of your data and the purpose of its processing, pursuant to Article 15 GDPR. If you wish to do this, please contact Us under the above-mentioned contact e-mail. We may require you to provide verification of your identity and to pay an administration fee to provide a copy of the information We hold. Please note that in certain circumstances We may withhold access to your information where We have the right to do so under current data protection legislation.
b) Your right to rectification/erasure of your data
You have the right to obtain from Us without undue delay the rectification of inaccurate data concerning you pursuant to Article 16 GDPR. Furthermore, you have the right to obtain from Us the erasure of data concerning you without undue delay and We shall have the obligation to erase you data without undue delay in accordance with Article 17 GDPR.
c) Your right to restrict the processing
You have a right to obtain from the Us a restriction of processing pursuant to Article 18 GDPR.
d) Your right to data portability
In cases where the data has been provided based on your consent or on a contract and the data processing is carried out by automated means, you have the right to receive from Us the data held about you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and you have the right to transmit this data to another controller without hindrance from Us, in accordance with Article 20 GDPR.
e) Your right to object
You have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of your data, in accordance with Article 21 GDPR.
f) Your right to lodge a complaint
You may at any time lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority pursuant to Article 77 GDPR.

7. Minors
If you are a minor under the age of sixteen, please read this Privacy Policy carefully in the company of your legal guardian and provide your personal information only if your legal guardian has given consent thereto.
8. Security
